Reflexive Pronouns

Portuguese reflexive verbs are formed by adding the reflexive pronouns “-me” (myself), “-te” (yourself), “-se” (his/her/themselves), or “-nos” (ourselves). The present simple conjugation is:

  • Eu lembro-me
  • Tu lembras-te
  • Você/ele/ela lembra-se
  • Nós lembramo-nos
  • Vocês/eles/elas lembram-se

💡 Language tip: In the first person plural (nós), when the reflexive pronoun comes after the verb, the final “-s” of the verb is dropped. For example: “Nós vestimos” + “-nos” ➡ “nós vestimo-nos” (We dress ourselves).
