Reflexive Verbs
What are reflexive verbs?
Reflexive verbs refer to actions that are performed by the subject of the sentence on itself.
In Portuguese, reflexive verbs are formed by adding a reflexive pronoun to the end of the infinitive form of the verb: magoar (to hurt) ➡ magoar-se (to hurt oneself).
- 🤕 Ele magoou a Rita. (He hurt Rita.)
- 🩹 Ele magoou-se. (He hurt himself.)
