The word “mundo” (world) is used in some Portuguese idioms:
- Andar nas bocas do mundo (To be on the mouths of the world/to be on everybody’s lips). It means to be talked about a lot.
- Meio mundo (half the world). We can say Meio mundo está com gripe (Half the world has/is with the flu). It means that many people have the flu.
