European Portuguese Podcasts by Level
Most of what comes up when you search for a Portuguese podcast is Brazilian. These are European Portuguese podcasts only, and every show on the list is made in Portugal. We opened every page, checked who the hosts are, when the last episode came out and whether a written transcript exists. Where we could not confirm something, the entry says so.
The list runs from slow lessons made for beginners to the shows that people in Portugal listen to on the way to work. Pick the group that matches your level. If it feels too fast, go back one group.
🎧 You do not need an app. Every entry has a link that plays in an ordinary web browser. RTP Play, Antena 1, Antena 2, Público and Renascença all play without an account. Apple Podcasts pages have a play button on every episode. Spotify asks you to sign in for full episodes, so we list it last.
💡 How to learn from a podcast. Listen once without stopping. If there is a transcript, read it, then listen again. Pick one sentence you liked and say it out loud three times.

The "Explained" episodes teach in English around Portuguese examples; the dialogue episodes are mostly Portuguese.

- Histórias da História, Um Dia na História, Histórias de Portugal, Portugal com História. Portuguese history podcasts that all stopped between 2021 and 2024.
- Falsos Lentos, Histórias de Lisboa, Conexão Criminal, Falando de História. Active and from Portugal, but marked explicit by their publishers, so we left them out.
- Gramofone, Admirável Mundo da Ciência, Perguntar Não Ofende. Fine shows; the list already has something very like each of them.
