Adverbs

Adverbs in Portuguese are called ‘advérbios’. They add detail about how, when, where, or to what extent something happens, making sentences clearer and more expressive.

Most adverbs are invariable (they don’t change with gender or number) and many can be recognised by the ending ‘-mente’.
