To know
In brief, "saber" is about knowledge, and "conhecer" is about familiarity and experience."Saber" is used to express knowledge or information about a fact, such as knowing how to do something, knowing a piece of information, or knowing a language.
- Eu sei falar inglês. (I know how to speak English.)
"Conhecer," on the other hand, is used to express familiarity or acquaintance with a person, place, or thing. It can also be used in the sense of having experienced something. For example:
- 🏖️ Eu conheço aquela praia. (I know that beach.)
- Eu conheci este restaurante ontem. (I got to know this restaurant yesterday.)
- 📅 Eu não conheci a Joana hoje, eu conheço-a há 10 anos. (I didn't meet Joana today, I've known her for 10 years.)
