Irregular verbs

The following verbs don’t follow the same conjugation patterns as the regular verbs.

Notice that the verbs “ser” and “ir” share the same words in the preterite so we can only know from context which verb is being used.

Also, the verb “estar” only differs from the verb “ter” in the first two letters (“es”). Note that, in all forms of the verb “estar”, it’s common to hear people dropping the “es” (“estive” becomes “tive” in spoken conversation).
