Indefinite Pronouns and Determiners
Indefinite pronouns are words that replace nouns and refer to an identifiable but imprecise person or thing. They express ideas such as ‘all,’ ‘none,’ ‘any,’ ‘few,’ ‘many’ or ‘some.’
- 📞 Alguém telefonou para a empresa, mas ninguém atendeu, porque estavam todos numa reunião. (Someone phoned the company, but no one answered because they were all in a meeting.)
The same words that replace nouns are sometimes used before the nouns and in that case, they are called quantifiers.
- 🍬 Comemos poucos doces durante as férias. (We ate few sweets during the vacation.)
- 🏃 Eu corro todos os dias. (I run every day.)
