Imperative Mood
In Portuguese, the imperative is used to:
- Give commands and instructions
- 🚪 Vai-te embora! (Go away!)
- 🛣️ Vire na primeira à direita. (Take the first right.)
- Give advice
- 👂 Ouve o que te digo. (Listen to what I say.)
- 🙄 Oh, não ligues. (Oh, pay no attention/ don't mind.)
- Make a suggestion or an invitation
- 🎬 Veja este filme, é ótimo. (Watch this movie, it is great.)
- 🍽️ Venham jantar connosco no domingo. (Come have dinner with us on Sunday.)
- Make requests or to implore
- 🪟 Limpe as janelas, por favor. (Clean the windows, please.)
- 📄 Traga os documentos, por favor. (Bring the documents, please.)
- 😱 Socorro! Ajudem-me! (Help! Help me!)
