The word “frente” means “front.” When we say “before / in front of someone” we can use a possessive pronoun (à tua frente) or the preposition “de” (of) followed by a pronoun (à frente de ti).
In this sentence, the possessive “tua” (your) is used, but we could also say “o caminho à frente de ti” (the path in front of you). More examples:
- Tenho duas pessoas à minha frente. (I have two people in front of me.)
- Tenho duas pessoas à frente de mim. (I have two people in front of me.)
Notice that after the preposition “de,” the prepositional pronouns “mim, ti, si” must be used instead of the subject pronouns “eu, tu, você.”
